Introduction to Educaring™

  • For anyone wanting to gain an overview of the Approach including the history of its founder, a look at the 7 RIE principles, trust in natural gross motor development, the value of play, observation and appreciation of the child’s authenticity, and more.

Before Baby

Before Baby™

  • An introduction to RIE practices for expectant parents or those planning on becoming parents. Learn the principles behind providing respectful care to newborns and building foundational relationships from the beginning. This course offers an invitation to “do less, observe more and enjoy most”. 

  • Duration: 8 hours

  • Cost: $380 per family for group sessions, $450/private class

RIE® Foundations: Theory and Observation

  • A deep dive into the principles and practices of the Educaring Approach.

  • Topics include:

    • Natural gross motor development and the adult’s role

    • Fine motor development driven by the innate urge to play

    • Social-emotoinal development and acknowledgment of feelings

    • The art of sensitive observation and care routines

    • Understanding adult’s needs and expectations

    • Appropriate “curriculum” for infants and toddlers

    • A brief look at anti-bias practices, brain and language development 

    • Working with adults and elements of group care 

    • Environments, play objects, and praise

  • Duration: 60 hours - 36 hours of live instruction in-person, online or hybrid including active participation in the discussion, video, lecture and hand-on activities and 24 hours of self-study involving reading, assignments and observations. 

  • Cost: $1,395/per person

RIE® Online Parent Guidance

  • Join a small group of like-minded parents focused on respectful relationships. Classes meet weekly in a supportive, non-judgmental online space to share questions, challenges, and successes. RIE® Mentor Melissa Coyné offers developmental information and guidance connecting theory to practice. Learn how to see your child and yourself in new ways that aim to bring you more ease and peace of mind. 

  • Duration: 1 hour

  • Cost: $200/month
